No Win No Fee is Good for Patients

One of the best things to happen to patients who have been subjected to medical negligence is the No Win No Fee arrangement.

The principle is really quite simple; a lawyer is contacted by a patient about filing a claim against a doctor for negligence. After the lawyer goes through the available information, he may decide to take the victim as a client.

In order to get paid for his services, a lawyer may opt to bill a victim on a weekly, monthly, and even quarterly basis. Or he may charge a ones-time percentage of the winning compensation amount.

While these arrangements may be alright for the lawyer, it will, in all likelihood, be difficult for the victim because he will most likely be grappling with medical expenses at the same time.

Realising this difficulty, a lawyer may offer a no win no fee medical negligence arrangement with the patient. This arrangement means that the victim will not have to fork out any money to the lawyer, weather at the beginning, in the middle, or by the end of the court case.

Any expenses that the lawyer incurs will be taken from the losing party, which in this case is the doctor who committed the negligence and can be collected once the case is won for the victim.
